Hikarimoyo-mono

While we produce some other varieties, our breeding program is focused on Hikarimoyo-mono of the highest quality. This group of koi contains the multi-colored metallic types. With a dazzling array of colors, and all with the beautiful metallic luster, it is a stunning group.

The types we breed at present are:

Kikusui
Metallic Kohaku in a doitsu, or scaleless version. Bright red on platinum white base.

Heisei Nishiki
Metallic doitsu Sanke. Platinum white base with bright red and black patterns.

Kujaku
Gold or red pattern on platinum overlaid with reticulation (pinecone pattern) Full scaled.

Hariwake
Two colored metallic koi. We breed Yamabuki Hariwake, which is yellow and platinum. Ours are full scale.

Beni Kikokuryu
Descended from Kumonryu, or dragon koi. Doitsu with a pewter to platinum base,black spots and a red pattern. Dorsal scales dark.

We breed robust indivuals in these patterns that, when combined with the broad flowing finnage are stunning. The effect is the that of fine jewelry juxtaposed to strength and grace.
